customer-centric marketing

Understand the forces that shape customer buying patterns!

There are many types of business models and many types of business partners & customers that businesses have to consider when planning for business growth and evolution. A business client may include: the general public, contractors, other businesses, distributors, suppliers, franchisees, government and/or not for profit organizations, etc. Each has a different perspective that businesses have to respond to when considering developing a marketing strategy.

Each of these customers has a unique demographic - and many businesses include multiple unique customer groups – these customer groups are defined by such typical factors as age, lifestyle, gender or ethnic makeup – but we also have to consider education, responsibilities, typical purchasing patterns, contract requirements, leisure pursuits, economic pressures – these and many other factors provide important clues on what, and how we should be communicating to our customers.

All business and marketing decisions relate back to customers so it is important that we put ourselves in the shoes of our customers and understand the pressures and forces that shape their buying habits. From this understanding we must constantly revise our business model to respond to your customer’s changing needs

This can range from a very focused message, a unique or broad product offering, incentives to a broad message aimed at a very specific demographic

Businesses also need to consider, from a client-centric point of view how their client demographic has changed – this also demands that we review our product mix and product margins, to create an effective business model.

There are many combinations of these factors that can help you be more effective in the marketplace by changing your customer service, product or service mix, pricing etc. – but it all starts with understanding what forces are shaping your potential customers’ buying decisions in your unique marketplace

If you are like everyone else you receive a constant barrage of email information from a diversity of sources (friends, co-workers, family), many trusted and others maybe you are unsure about. So how do you find out if what you are being told is real? As they say, better safe then sorry. There are a number of internet sources that will help you distinguish fact from fiction and scoop from scam.
